O'Delice French Bakery

Located on Magazine Street not far from Audubon Park, O'Delice French Bakery is a great place to grab a quick bite to eat or a sweet treat. There is no seating at O'Delice, so it is not a traditional restaurant in that sense, but it has some great things to offer which is why we decided to include it on our list. They offer morning coffees and yummy pastries, including miniature coffee cakes and croissants. O'Delice also specializes in custom made cakes which range from a silky red velvet to German chocolate. Individual cakes, petit fours and over sized cookies are all offered, and the quality is top notch. Perhaps our favorite thing to order at O'Delice is their sandwiches. There is not a ton of variety but much like their sweets, the sandwiches are top notch. They offer ham, turkey, roast beef and chicken salad, and you can get your sandwich on wheat bread or a croissant. My favorite is the ham sandwich on a croissant. The meat is so flavorful, and the croissants are always buttery and flaky, just the way I like them. My husband usually gets the chicken salad, also on a croissant. He swears it is the best chicken salad he has ever had, and that it has ruined him for all others. We round out our lunch with a bag of chips and a soft drink, and occasionally a cookie. They also offer bottled water, juices and of course the aforementioned sweets. The people behind the counter are extremely friendly and helpful. O'Delice is clearly a family run business that takes pride in the wonderful products they offer. Prices are fair, if not even a little low, and they even accept credit cards. We order sandwiches from O'Delice regularly, and I have never been disappointed. I am impressed with the consistency of their service and quality of their food. I give O'Delice French Bakery 3 stars.
