Riccobono's Panola Street Cafe
Since moving to New Orleans, we have really grown to love eating out for breakfast. Riccobono's Panola Street Cafe, located on Panola near Carrollton in uptown New Orleans is yet another hidden breakfast gem in a city filled with them. The restaurant is nestled away in an old house, and the inside has a very comfortable and laid back feel. The service is quick and friendly. The menu, which also offers a nice lunch sandwich selection, has your traditional breakfast selections. Perhaps the highlight is a reasonably priced eggs Benedict and some creative twists on other traditional classics. There are also several omelet options, pancakes and breakfast platters. My husband ordered one which included eggs, bacon and a biscuit. He really enjoyed the bacon and the eggs, which where seasoned just well-enough that he did not have to add any salt himself. I ordered a breakfast sandwich which consisted of eggs, Canadian bacon and cheese on an English muffin. I agreed with my husband on the eggs, they were exceptional. While there is no specific kids menu, they had high chairs and the menu is definitely kid friendly. We did not order a separate meal for our daughter, but she enjoyed the bacon and the eggs off of our plates as much as we did. One other nice thing about Panola Street Cafe is that unlike most other cafes in this city, they accept credit cards (no checks), which is a great convenience. If you are looking for a quick breakfast and are uptown, this petite restaurant definitely deserves your consideration. I give Riccobono's Panola Street Cafe 3 stars.
