Lakeview Deli and Catering

Located on quaint Harrison Avenue just south of the lake, Lakeview Deli and Catering is a great place to grab a quick bite to eat if you are shopping in the area. The menu consists of a large choice of sandwiches, burgers and a few daily specials such as shrimp creole and spaghetti and meatballs. The restaurant also offers a few creative fresh sandwiches. Like any good deli Lakeview offers a few tempting sides to accompany their tasty sandwiches, such as chips, french fries and onion rings. They offer canned soft drinks, green tea, Gatorade and a few other drink options, but at Lakeview it is all about the sandwiches. They are piled high with quality meats and cheeses, and the classic po'boy bread is large and really very good. Favorites of ours include the Pastrami and Swiss, the Fried Chicken Tender Po'boy and the Doc's Order Club Sandwich on Seven Grain Bread. The prices are fair, and the service is friendly, although it is not the quickest in town. The restaurant is small and does not offer much in the way of seating, but when it is nice, they do have a few tables located outside the building on Harrison which allows a good opportunity for people watching. There is no kids menu but the regular options offer several possibilities for children. They do not have a high chair which is a bit problematic for people with young children. Their catering menu is quiet different from their dine in menu; we have never had catering from Lakeview, so I cannot speak towards its taste, but I must say the options sound very appetizing. My husband and I have eaten at Lakeview several times and while it is nothing amazing, we have always enjoyed our meal. I give Lakeview Deli and Catering 2 and a half stars.
