The Pita Pit

When The Pita Pit opened just down the street from our house, my husband and I were excited to have a new casual dining option so close to home; since, we have come to love the Pita Pit. The food is always fresh, and the service is always quick and friendly. The menu is full of tempting pita creations ranging from meat filled pitas to hummus and babaganoush. The menu also includes several options for a hearty breakfast. For under $15 you can enjoy a filling pita, chips and a fountain drink making, The Pita Pit an affordable option when dining out. My husbands favorite pita is the Philly Steak Pita, and it is really great. Although it is not your traditional cheesesteak, served on a pita and with peppers, onions and mushrooms, he feels it is the best cheesesteak he has had in New Orleans thus far. I enjoy the Dagwood: turkey, ham and roast beef, made to my specifications. After you choose your pita, the servers help you top of your pita with a variety of different fresh toppings, and you can choose from a long list of unique and tasty sauces. While the restaurant does have a good kids menu, their lack of high chairs keeps The Pita Pit from being truly kid friendly. One nice thing about the restaurant is that it is open relatively late, so if you get that specific nighttime craving, The Pita Pit is a great option. We have eaten at the restaurant multiple times, and will again in the near future I imagine, and we are yet to be disappointed. I give The Pita Pit 3 stars.
