All the President's Men (1976)

If you dislike Republicans, or Richard Nixon in particular, All the President's Men is the film for you. This movie is a classic, chronicling Woodward and Bernstein's discoveries and revelations in the Washington Post about the Watergate scandal that eventually leads to the resignation of President Nixon. Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman, as well as the entire cast, are terrific in this movie. Overall, All the President's Men is an excellent movie, good enough to earn a Best Picture nomination. For anyone who was not alive at the time, or was too young to remember, this movie is extremely educational as well as entertaining. Anyone interested in American history, presidential history and/or the '70s should really see this movie. The only problem that I have with this movie is that the ending says what happens in the long run in terms of resignations and convictions, but it does not actually show it. I would have liked to see a dramatization of the final moments of the Nixon administration, I would have enjoyed seeing its collapse. That said, the movie is already over two hours long, adding something like that would likely push it well over three. I think my wife would have enjoyed this movie, but she is not all that big on catching up on classic cinema of days gone by. I give All the President's Men 4 stars.
